Replacement handle for a reel nobody makes parts for
A good reel becomes scrap because a 40-krone handle is out of stock. That part can be printed in carbon-filled nylon.
The problem
Manufacturers stop making parts for models that are five years old. The reel is otherwise fine, but without a handle it is useless.
The fix
I measure the shaft profile with calipers, model the handle in PA-CF and print it at high infill. The carbon fibre gives the stiffness needed to take the load when reeling in.
Three reel models are mapped so far. The goal is a library where you name your model and the part already exists.
