Bend restrictor for cable
A tapered TPU restrictor that clamps around the cable where it leaves the plug, so it cannot bend tighter than it is rated for.
The problem
Cables do not fail in the middle. They fail where they leave a plug, or where they chafe over the same edge every trip. The symptom is a fault that disappears when you straighten the cable out, and that is a conductor tired of being bent too tight.
The fix
The restrictor prints as two halves in TPU 95A, 0.2 mm under the cable's outside diameter so that it grips. The stiffness comes from the cone, not from the material: the wall thickens steadily towards the plug, and the cable gets a radius it can live with however hard somebody pulls. The same profile scales to a sounder cable, a camera tether or the lead to a deck light.
It is printed in a pale colour on purpose. TPU takes a lot of abuse but not years of UV, and a crack shows in a light part long before it becomes a problem. This is a wearing part to be swapped, not one meant to last forever. The thinking comes straight off the job: when a cable fails in the same place every time, the route is wrong, not the cable.
