The gauge is printed as one piece in ASA, with a fork at each end — one for the minimum size, one for the maximum. Your details sit as raised relief along the shaft, so the marking survives salt water and is still readable after a season. The hole at the end takes a 6 mm line, so it hangs on the pot rather than in a toolbox at home.
The measurements are set to the rules where you fish, and I check them against the directorate before each batch is printed. If the rules change, the model changes — that is the whole point of printing rather than tooling. Testing is finished after a season. I take orders as soon as the first batches are printed.
This is an aid on board, not a calibrated measuring instrument, and it is not approved by anyone. Minimum and maximum sizes change and vary along the coast — check what applies where you fish before you go out.
